Steps For How to Fix “Search Indexing was turned off” Windows 10 & 11?
Method 1: Using Services.
Step 1: Just Go to the Search Bar and Search for the “Services” Or Open “services.msc” Via Run Program(Ctrl+R).
Step 2: Navigate to “Windows Search” Service and Right Click On it, Select Automatic in Startup Type, and Start the Service.
Step 3: Close the Services and Check it Now.
Method 2: Using Tweaking.com Windows Repair Tool (All in One)

Step 2: After Downloading Windows Repair Tool, Install & Run it.
Step 3: Navigate to Repairs – Main Tab and Click on the Open Repairs Option.

Step 5: Wait for the Process to Complete and Restart Your PC.
Method 3: Using Registry Editor
Step 1: First of all Goto Search Bar and Search for Regedit and Open your Registry Editor and Navigate to the Following Location or Just Copy-Paste the Below Address to Registry Editor Address Bar.

Step 2: Now You have to Take Ownership on Gathering Manager Key.
Step 3: Now Right Click on the Gathering Manager Key and Select the Permissions.
Step 4: On Permission Tab, Select the Advanced Tab.
Step 5: Now Look For the Owner (at the Top) and Click the Change Option and Change it to Yourself.
Step 6: Now Just Look for defaultapplicationpath and temppath and Set the Values Data as given below.

Step 2: Now Right Click on the Windows Search Key and Select the Permissions.

Step 4: Now Look For the Owner (at the Top) and Click the Change Option and Change it to Yourself.
Step 5: Now Check Whether Windows Search Working or Not.
Still, Not Works Means Try the Following Steps.
Step 6: Delete the Whole Key and Download this Registry File From Below Link.

*Note – This is a registry key for system files. Do not use it if the MD5 does not match.
Step 7: After Installing the New Registry Key, Go to Search and Search for Indexing Option and Click Advanced and Click the Rebuild Button.
Step 8: Restart Your PC.
Method 5: Using Indexing Options
Step 1: First of all Navigate to Search and You’ll See the Turn Indexing back on. Just click on it.
Step 2: Now Click on the Advanced Option.
Step 3: Just Click on the Rebuild Button.
Step 4: When the Rebuild Index Window Prompts, Click Ok and Wait for the Process to Complete.
Method 6: Using Troubleshooter ( Search & Indexing)
Step 1: First of all Navigate to Search and Search for Troubleshoot Other problems.
Step 2: Under Other Troubleshooters, Click on the Search and Indexing Run Button.
Step 3: Just Select Can’t Start a Search or See Results, Click Next.
Step 4: Now Click on the Try these as an administrator Option.
Step 5: Now You’ll See the Problems that are Fixed with a Green Tick Mark.

Step 1: Download & Install Glary Utilities Software.
Step 2: After installing Glary Utilities Software, Run the Software and Navigate to 1-Click Maintenance.
Step 3: Under 1-Click Maintenance Tab, Select/Check all the Options and Click on the Scan for Issues button.
Step 4: After Completing 1-Click Maintenance, Navigate to Advanced Tools and Select the Clean Up & Repair Option.
